Is Paragliding over Interlaken (tandem) worth it?

For most people, yes — this is the gentle way to actually fly. A tandem paraglide off the slopes above Interlaken trades the skydive's violence for a long, silent glide between two lakes with the Eiger alongside. Lower on adrenaline, far higher on beauty, and open to nervous first-timers.

  • You want flight that is scenic, not terrifying
  • You can manage a short downhill launch run
  • You are visiting the Bernese Oberland anyway

Skip it if

  • You are chasing pure adrenaline
  • Low cloud on your dates would ground you
  • You resent paying for a passive tandem ride

The catch

The mountains make or break it: on a grey, blown-out day you are just hanging in mist, and flights are cancelled or cut short without much warning. Book early in your trip so you have days to spare for the weather.
